Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy

The Worldwide Journal of Creative Research and Thoughts (WJCRT) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, authenticity, and integrity of all published scholarly content. The journal recognizes that published research forms part of the permanent academic record and must remain available for future generations of scholars, researchers, educators, policymakers, professionals, and readers.

WJCRT follows responsible digital preservation practices to protect published articles from data loss, technical failure, website migration, system disruption, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Digital Archiving

All articles published in WJCRT are archived in digital format to support continued access and long-term preservation. The journal maintains secure digital backups on reliable servers and storage systems to reduce the risk of content loss.

Digital archiving helps protect published content in cases such as technical failure, cyber incidents, website changes, server migration, or operational disruption.

Self-Archiving and Author Rights

Authors are encouraged to increase the visibility and accessibility of their research by depositing their published articles in appropriate repositories and academic platforms.

Authors may archive the final published version, also known as the Version of Record, in:

  • Institutional repositories.
  • Subject-based repositories.
  • University digital libraries.
  • Personal academic websites.
  • Research networking platforms.
  • Academic profile pages.

Whenever an article is shared or deposited elsewhere, proper citation to WJCRT, the article title, author details, publication year, volume, issue, page/article number, DOI or article URL where available must be included.

Open Access Preservation

As an open-access journal, WJCRT ensures that all published articles remain freely available online without subscription fees, paywalls, embargo periods, or access restrictions.

Open access preservation supports global scholarly communication by allowing readers worldwide to access, read, download, share, cite, and build upon published research in accordance with the journal's licensing policy.

Print Archiving

Where printed versions of the journal are produced, archival copies may be retained by the publisher and may also be deposited in academic libraries, documentation centres, institutional archives, or relevant repositories for physical preservation and reference purposes.

Integrity of Archived Content

Once an article is formally published, it becomes part of the scholarly record. Published articles are not ordinarily removed or altered after publication.

If post-publication action is required, the journal may issue:

  • Expressions of concern.
  • Retraction notices.

Such notices will remain clearly linked to the original article to preserve transparency, accountability, and the integrity of the academic record.

Metadata Preservation

WJCRT preserves essential bibliographic metadata for every published article to support discoverability, indexing, citation tracking, and long-term academic referencing.

Metadata may include:

  • Article title.
  • Author name(s).
  • Author affiliation(s).
  • Abstract.
  • Keywords.
  • Publication date.
  • Volume and issue details.
  • Page range or article number.
  • DOI, where assigned.
  • Article URL.
  • Licence information.

Indexing and Long-Term Access

WJCRT is committed to supporting the discoverability and long-term accessibility of published research through appropriate metadata practices, permanent article pages, digital archiving, repository compatibility, and indexing-readiness measures.

The journal may submit metadata and published content to relevant indexing, abstracting, repository, and discovery services where applicable. Indexing availability depends on the policies, selection criteria, and technical requirements of each indexing service.

Continuity of Access

WJCRT aims to maintain uninterrupted access to published scholarly content. In the event of website restructuring, platform migration, publisher system changes, or operational transition, reasonable efforts will be made to preserve article records, metadata, URLs, and access to published content.

Policy Review and Updates

This Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy may be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect developments in digital preservation technologies, open-access publishing, repository standards, metadata practices, legal requirements, and international scholarly publishing best practices.
